A free screening of a documentary short about the Brothers Islands as the last foothold of the Wolastoqiyik in southern New Brunswick, with Indigenous community members speaking after the film.
Vanbuskirk Law, Port Saint John, UNB Associated Alumni and the Imperial Theatre invites the community to come together for the screening of a documentary short film, Brothers Islands, produced by Logan Perley from the Wolastoqi Nation. The film explores how the small islands became the last foothold of the Wolastoqiyik in the southern New Brunswick river basin.Â
The film screening will be at the Imperial Theatre and is offered free of charge to the community on Truth and Reconciliation Day, 30 September 2026, starting at 7:00pm. Although tickets do not have a cost, attendees must contact the Imperial Theatre to reserve their seat. Please call the box office at 506.674.4100 (press 1).Â
The programme will involve Indigenous community members speaking about Brothers Islands and their experiences visiting the islands following the 20 minute film.Â
