Costumed pets and their humans gather for an SPCA fundraiser with a pet costume contest at 2 pm, donations accepted, and a prize basket for supporters.
Your pet has been wearing the same fur coat all year. Time to accessorize.
The Great Pumpkin Pet Party returns to the Saint John City Market on Saturday, October 24, from 12pm–3pm, bringing costumed pets and their people together in support of Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue.
The pet costume contest begins at 2pm, with judges including Mayor Donna Reardon and Councillor Ryan Moore choosing the top three costumes. Dogs, cats and other companions are welcome to compete. Whether your pet arrives as a pumpkin, a superhero or a deeply unimpressed hot dog, there’s room to show off their Halloween look.
Admission is by donation to Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue. Anyone who donates will receive a complimentary pet treat bag courtesy of Global Pet Foods while supplies last, plus an entry to win a prize basket valued at more than $300.
Bring your costumed companion or come enjoy the parade of questionable decisions made by otherwise loving pet owners. It’s all for the animals.
