A four-day community celebration with live music, family activities, lawn bowling, card tournaments, bingo, a ball game, and a family day with inflatables and petting zoo.
Saint John West Days returns August 12–15 with four days of live music, family activities, friendly competition and West Side pride at locations throughout the community.
August 12
Sunset Social | 6:30pm | Lancaster Plaza The celebration begins with the official opening ceremony, live music from SideKick, Casa Latina specials and a performance by Urban Dance.
August 13
Seniors’ Bingo | 11am–3pm | Legion Branch 69 Enjoy bingo, lunch, entertainment and a 50/50 draw at 714 Wilson Street. Tickets are $12 and quantities are limited. Call Jean at 506-608-3318, Donna at 506-651-3359 or Patricia at 506-214-0774.
Market Place Ball Game and BBQ | 6–7:30pm | Market Place Ballfield Players of every experience level are invited to grab a glove and join the community ball game, with Rob Scott Insurance working the grill.
West Side Memorabilia Display | 7:30pm | Legion Branch 69 Explore a special display celebrating the people, places and history of Saint John’s West Side at 714 Wilson Street.
August 14
Seaside Lawn Bowling Open House | 1–4pm | Seaside Lawn Bowling Club Try lawn bowling, learn the basics and enjoy hot dogs from the grill. Flat-soled footwear is required.
45s Card Tournament | 1–4pm | Assumption Centre Enjoy an afternoon of cards, friends and friendly competition at 721 Chapel Street. Everyone is welcome, admission is $5 and prizes are available.
Carleton Forces Booster Dance | 8:30–11:30pm | Assumption Centre DJ Niles Miles spins favourite tunes during a Friday night dance at 721 Chapel Street. Tickets are $10 in advance from any Carleton Allstar athlete or $15 at the door. Email [email protected] for details.
August 15
Coffee and Goss | 8:30–10:30am | Castle Funeral Home Start Family Day with complimentary coffee, tea, juice and morning treats at 309 Lancaster Avenue. Saint John West storyteller David Goss will share local stories and lore from the deck overlooking the falls, river, lower west side and Uptown.
West Side Family Day | 12–4pm | Carleton Community Centre The week wraps with live music, inflatables, face painting, henna, a petting zoo, axe throwing, a 360 photo booth, cheerleading, concessions, a BBQ and more.
Frank James and Austin Gautreau perform from 12:15–1:15pm, followed by Old Skool from 1:30–2:30pm and Radio Factory from 2:45–3:45pm.
